Vic & Paul in Lavaux

It started with a coincidence: a missed train finally turning out to be the right one for the start time of the hike.

Victoria and Paul were visiting from Canada. We met in Chexbres, walked down to Bovy brothers (http://www.domainebovy.ch/) for a wine tasting session, where a LARGE group of Japanese guests were already at it! Nevermind, Eric Bovy installed us at the bar table and we started out on a typical Chasselas 2013, followed by a visit to the vault.

3 other delicious wines came after that, and it was then time to stroll down through Rivaz and to the lake's shores.

We made our way to the Vinorama (http://www.lavaux-vinorama.ch/), where Sandra and Luis welcomed us to some specialities, among which the little-known but exquisite "Plant Robert", unique to Lavaux.

The train from Rivaz to Vevey was too early for Vic & Paul, who are strong and keen walkers, so we started back up the slopes, under the warm sun and with just the right amount of swiss wine in our blood stream to help us up the steep stairs and trails that lead back up to the train station of Chexbres....

...well, our hike ended with another unplanned event: because swiss trains are never late (that's in any case something a guide in Lavaux cannot count upon to make up for a bad timing, and that's a lesson learnt !-) our guide coordinator was called in to drive our guests down to Vevey again, thanks Eric!
